The location

Away from home, close to yourself.

Before we met in Hong Kong Sean lived in Sri Lanka. By the time we start this training he may be living there again.

The venue, Flowground, is the ideal setting for a teacher training - surrounded by paddy fields so you can immerse yourself in nature and the course.

For those who want it, within 5 minutes (by car) you will be in Ahangama beach town which has everything you need.

The food, rooms, and hospitality is exceptional, meaning all you have to do is focus on the training.

The Course

Certified. Confident. Ready to teach.

This course is a 200-hour teacher training, certified by Yoga Alliance, in alignment and Vinyasa teaching.

On this training you will not just learn “a sequence”. You will learn HOW to sequence.

Once you’ve graduated, you will know precisely WHY you are placing one pose before another. Nothing is random, there is always a purpose. This is intentional sequencing.

You will construct classes which are both fun and functional. Strong but safe.

You will not just learn to memorise verbal cues, but you will learn HOW to cue. How to use your words and voice to instruct with clarity and brevity. You will know why you are saying what you are saying, instead of saying it because “that is what my teachers say”.

Best of all, once you graduate from this training, you will understand how to offer options in your classes so that, regardless of their level, students feel equally supported and appropriately challenged in your class. This is a rare skill but one we will teach you.

Your Teachers

Two Teachers, One Why, Now Yours.

Ester Oldfield | Founder of esteroldfield yoga | RYT500++

Ester is an alignment-based teacher trained in Iyengar principles and Hot 26, with 8 years teaching at Pure Yoga Hong Kong before opening her own international yoga business. She runs Aligned Teaching, her own mentorship for yoga teachers, alongside Aligned Being, an integrated therapy and wellness practice. Ester is also a trained psychotherapist, bringing a unique approach to teaching, not just through sequencing and alignment, but an embodied and somatic experience that extends beyond the mat. It's the same depth she brings to this training: technical craft, backed by real insight into people.

Sean Robinson

A speech and language therapist turned yoga teacher Sean is obsessed with communication and in making anatomy accessible. Sean had been assisting trainings since 2018, teaching on them since 2020 and leading them since 2024. In 2017, before moving to Hong Kong, Sean was living in Sri Lanka where he managed and taught at a yoga studio in Colombo. Now after 6 years teaching yoga full-time in Hong Kong he is moving back to Sri Lanka. His classes are simple yet strong - part fluid - part technical. Sean’s priority on this training is for you to leave as a teacher - not on instructor (this statement will make sense later if it doesn’t already).

Together

We each teach quite different, yet complementary, styles of yoga. Combined we have 20 years of teaching experience — from large group classes to one-on-ones and workshops to international retreats. The combination of alignment plus vinyasa will set you up with a solid foundation as you begin, or refine, your teaching practice. We have made more mistakes than you can imagine and had some successes too. We feel we have a lot to share and are so ready to share it all with you.

What you will learn.

Philosophy

30 hours of practical yogic philosophy. The kind you can actually use to theme your classes and integrate into your life.

Anatomy

Over 20 hours of actionable anatomy which you'll learn to integrate into your sequencing.

Art of Teaching

As you sharpen your teaching, learn and teach from your why, your experience, and your students, will become deeper, safer and impactful.

Adjustments

Learn how to offer safe yet effective hands-on adjustments for poses, through accurate knowledge and skillful techniques.

Workshops

Advanced pose workshops: lotus, backbends, inversions, chaturanga transitions.

Online Content

To maximise the skills-based learning in-person, we will teach 50-60 hours (approx.) online before we meet in Sri Lanka, covering anatomy and philosophy sections. This ensures when together we can practically apply this knowledge and benefit from hands on learning.
